David Stetler and me (Ram) met in the middle of 2008. Since then we are best friend that i ever met in my entire life. I met his parents on account of july 4th, which is the independance day of America .

On the way I talked to his parents about the need of ESL to our Bhutanese Community as i said about 90% of our people are illitrate, uneducated and no english. +40 people are old age. They are here(America) for the bright future of their children. These old age people are the one who are facing the problems. problems like communication, home sickness, cultural sickness and departure of their family members. As a result, they getting illness like diabetics, high blood pressure e.t.c.

They were happily residing in the plastic hut. They like plastic dusty hut because they had their free life in the Refugee camp. They could freely talk in their native language. Here they feel that they are in the prision. They don’t have same language neighbor. As laxuman Acharya said, ” i don’t have my age people and all i met here are new to me” . He also said, ” i heardly sleep at night and pass the time during day because i don’t have job.”

As some scholars said ,”where there is hope, there is life”.Here in Kansas GOD has sent us hope. our hope is David Stetler who comes here to gives us new life, hope by starting ESL program at Mission Adelante.Through his mission, our people are attending English classes, kids club and citizenship class.

Last frieday i went to Krishna Guragai house at 29th street to get signature of R&P paper work given by Catholic Charities. He wrote his name on the paper.By seeing his writing ,i was surprised.I thanks to his teacher who opened his eyes.I thanks all the volunteers at mission who have been helping our entire community.Your helps to our community is very necessary and is being watched by our GOD.

At last i welcome new volunteers and thanks all teachers who created and gave them hope and opened their eyes. We appriciate your help.

Note: This is my second language writing. Please do correction and read. If i have made mistakes forgive me.
